Ethiopia Dry Process Guji Buku: 6/2/2022

Coffee Shrub has the following profile:

An intoxicating rue-herbal note impacts the fruit flavors in the cup, with juicy sweetness, big body, and notes of blackberry, pomegranate syrup, a balsamic hint, and a honey-sweet flavor that brought to mind honey mead. City to City+.

This tells me it will be a nice lighter roast for those who enjoy a bright and fruity cup of coffee. I will experiment with a slightly darker roast, although I have been warned this might introduce some bitter notes. We will see!

Because these beans were gown at such high elevations, the berries themselves are smaller. This can make roasting more challenging, but also yields a very distinctive flavor. Some remark that the notes are more herbal than the traditional bright floral and fruit notes one associates with Ethiopian coffees. It is a distinctive and still pleasing flavor profile.
